A day to remember with some Egg Roast

Uff Its gone finally..Goobye Irene. The entire weekend was full of fear as the word "Hurricane Irene" had took everyone on the east coast in sight better say for a ride, unaware of what could happen and  Hoping for the best n still getting ready for the worst. On Sunday the storm delivered something less than a knockout punch, as they say the storms mood got changed.

I never took it seriously untill friday evening when i watched the news channels, then i came to know there was actually a big deal about it , there were warnings every where even some notices in our apartments to empty the storage rooms .I never heard anything of that sort in India and just watched it on discovery or in Hollywood movies. But it was actually happening this time.It was hard to believe but then in between of could happen and it would happen came "preparation".We had to stock up some food, water, candles ,flashlights as the electricity could go so you would not b able to communicate as your phone, internet,TV will go but the most pathetic of all is in our apartments  gas is electric too. So you can't even cook without the light.Jus Imagine. So like every1 else we stocked up some necessities and i made up lots of food like boiled eggs, some rice, chickpeas, stored some water as well and  with some prayers we were ready to face the Hurricane while swaping the TV news channels  where they were showing  a lot of people were evacuated from lowline areas even from hospitals in New York and all the coastal places. Emergency was declared in 9 states and all the governers of different states were giving messages to stay indoor , stay safe. And after geting bored of watching the repetitive news  i thought of watching the movie 2012 , which i paused halfway with a thought in the back of my mind that may be its the end of the world.I was watching the tree near my house and thinking if it falls then what would be its angle. This imagination could go anywhere and imagine anything. How amazing and how stupid is that..eeee.We called our family members to let them know if their are power outages we  won't be able to talk for a while, though we didn't know about the danger but assuring them that everything is gonna be fine.

Hurricane Irene started on a high pace  with Tornado warnings and threat of flood....winds at 100 miles per hr ,but as the Hurricane downgraded into a storm it caused less damage as was expected. And the recovery begins with few fallen trees,  lot of ppl facing power outages and flooding in some places and a  lot of breeze and rain .But it was nowhere near as bad as we thought. And yes with lots of food in the refrigerator which has to be consumed..huh..The loss to nation estimated to $40 billion which is a huge amount in this bad economic times.I don't know whether i will face something like this in my lifetime again but i had a sigh of relief n on sunday night like every1 else i slept peacefully in my bed.

Life is so uncertain but it comes with a lot of possibilities and hope. I would thank God and  begin my day with the  beautiful Sun rise and pray for every1 who has been a victim of this storm. So m back with few more recipes to use all my uncooked food wat else can u expect from a emerging blogger.
